Our overall environment is highly complex and very challenging but extremely intellectually rewarding. The core of the system is built using C++ and your role will be key in keeping a live trading exchange operating efficiently. We can teach you all of the specific knowledge required; the exchange business, the applications etc. but you must be very talented technically and feel able to learn quickly and adapt.

Job Overview:

Reporting to Application Support Manager. Design, setup and deployment of the distributed trading applications running on Solaris 10 and Oracle 10g. Setup and maintenance of monitoring and alerting software. Daily support and maintenance of Integration, QA, UAT and production environments. Working closely with the development, QA and the Operations team to define the requirements for a successful and manageable systems environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, setup and configuration of production applications environment
  • Design, setup and configuration of real-time monitoring tools (TIBCO Hawk, HP OpenView etc)
  • Daily support of QA, UAT and production environments
  • Configuration Management
  • Liaison with UNIX system administrators, DBAs and network specialist
  • Writing Unix shell and Perl scripts and automation of system procedures
  • Configuration of application and system monitoring tools
  • Responsibility for the smooth running of production and test systems
  • Provide out of hours support
  • ETS Application configuration and maintenance
  • Installation and deployment of application support tools
  • Application troubleshooting
  • Aid in non-functional testing (including application performance, Fault tolerance and DR testing

Specific Skills:

  • Unix installation, configuration and tuning (Solaris 10)
  • Excellent Shell and PERL Scripting
  • Network configuration and troubleshooting (UDP, TCP, DNS)
  • RDBMS experience a plus (Oracle 9 or above)
  • Open Source software selection and deployment
  • Good analysis skills
